A dull and ugly revenge fantasy lacking in imagination. Director Eli Roth brings a few good ideas for the death scenes, given his background as a horror film director. But Bruce Willis looks as bored as the audience does.

One wonders whether this remake was necessary

Should I take the risk and watch a Bruce Willis movie again? All the previous films with this action hero were almost one by one (with the exception of ďOnce upon a time in Veniceď) sources of annoyance in which Bruce acted uninspired and without enthusiasm. Iím sure his facial expression showed more enthusiasm when he looked at his paycheck. But I thought, letís just bite the bullet and get this over with. And to be honest, this remake of ďDeath WishĒ wasnít so bad. Itís not possible for me to compare this movie with the series of films from the 70s and 80s with the legendary Charles Bronson, because I just canít remember ever having seen one of them. Maybe Bruce Willis is a kind of icon in Hollywood. But compared to Charles Bronson, heís just a teeny, tiny icon.
